Day 9 – Goodbye Scotland

Sadly this is our last day… we had a good night rest in this old Victorian building. We stayed at Sunbank Hotel. The guy here does everything alone. Think Corona hit him very hard.

We went to Tesco and arrived at Edinburgh. I got wonderfull earrings at the Two Skies store…

Now our last meal… Haggis, Salmon, … In a great place called Copper Still

Hoax number 3: Salmon

You would think that one would get sick of Salmon here…. But nooooo we actually needed to look for it. They often eat it at breakfast and it is not expensive but you don’t see it a lot on menu’s…

UPDATE: Kelly ordered Salmon finally at the end of our trip. We pasted four restaurants because it wasn’t on the menu… waitress just came back… sorry ma’m we are all out… 😂😂😂

Hoax number 4: Scottish cows

We love those cute beasties… however the whole trip, we can count on one hand how many farms we passed that they had them… we are suggesting to use sheep instead… those are randomly available..😂

Hoax number 5: Haggis is not a specific animal

Haggis is made more of sheep and pork then anything else. But Scots sometimes want to let you believe that Haggis is a specific animal from the earlier days… but that isn’t true. It was the meal they made with the leftovers from flesh they still had. Usually sheep, cow, … and they cooked it in a sheep stomach. Now they don’t do that and Haggis is actually very tastefull with a lot of spices. Best eaten with mashed potatoes and a whiskey sauce.

Thomas Riddle

We had some minutes to spare so we went to look for the grave of Thomas Riddle. Found it!

That is it. We have come to the end of the journey as we are waiting for our flight back. Sadly I must say. But I am so much richer then when I came here! Not talking about money duh… but experiences!!

THE END
