Day 3 – Loch Lomond

We needed breakfast again. Shocking I know! But now we decided to leave Edinburgh immediately and eat breakfast at the Kelpies. Which was our first stop.

It was rather empty there in the Corner Cafe, but still we had to wait a long time 😂

Here is the planning of the day:

The Kelpies

Before we could go over and look at them, our oldest came to tell her that the newly bought shoes were not fitting… they were 5 days old and I actually asked her to practice them while in the shop… she did, then decided to get a smaller pair and didn’t try them on… result… we went to Sport Direct to get NEW walking shoes… Now I have new ones too 😂

We went to see the water ghosts and learned their story. They are vicious animals that lure people to touch them and then drag them with them into the lake they came from. At the bottom while drowning you will become their dinner. The creatures can take many forms. Sometimes they are a beautiful lady to lure a young man and sometimes they are a unicorn to lure small children. It all ends the same. When you touch a kelpie you get stuck. It has a glue like skin. They can be mastered though when you have their reigns. It is said that there is a clan that still has those reigns.

Castle of Doune

This is the one castle I wanted to see inside. The castle is very old and used in the Monty Python movies. Which I now want to see again. It was amazing seeing how they lived there.

Also a very expensive day… we had a fine

Falls of Falloch

We went and visited some falls before checking in our hotel Arrochar

Every photo is more beautiful then the last one.

When we checked in, we ate at the hotel because we had so much rain driving in. But first a small whiskey in the bar… the roads were very tired some.

I love the text!!!

Then we went to bed. Nighty night. Tomorrow we will go and see the bridge of Harry Potter
