Day 5 – Isle of Sky

Early morning at Kirkton.

This was our view with a coffee. We could do worse.

It was a small but practical cottage. However our bed was not all that great. The kids got the master bedroom and we got the sofa bed. The sofa had seen better times… I hope…

The planning is as follows;

We will see first the Eileen Dunan Castle and then drive to Skye to see Fairy Pools and go to the guest house in portree called Oisean Sheonag, Fladda Crescent, Portree, UK

The weather is bad and getting worse with the minut. The beautiful sun made way for horrible rain and even worse winds. The car gets pushed and pulled in directions that you don’t want in the small roads on the island fit for only 1 vehicle but driven by 2 directions.

Finally we arrive at Fairy Pools… only to get turned away ofcourse as the winds are now 90-100 mph. That is up to 160 km an hour.

A bit of wind

So this day was rather short as the wind was too much to bear.

But we could had a worse room… we had a fridge even
And this is Portree… the typical pic you need to make 😂

We ended up dining in The Isles Inn and we tasted Haggis for 3 times already. It is not gross at all but actually very yummy!

Tomorrow, we are going Dino hunting! Early because we need to be there when the tide is right…
